SIR - I know Keith Thomson is well intentioned by his many contributions to Envirowatch, but does he really believe there is any better way of providing our energy needs than nuclear power and does he honestly believe that by the time we have run out of oil and gas our scientific experts will not have come up with substitutes?
I have read that farmers are asking the government to follow Germany's example, by investing in the use of animal manure, from part of which, bio fuels can be produced, while the remaining part can be used as natural fertiliser.
Now that is recycling!
