SIR - Peter Rushforth's comments on the vandalism of Bradford's Victorian buildings recorded in Gavin Stamp's book Britain's Lost Cities mention the sadly demolished Kirkgate Market.
If it had been in Leeds it would have been cleaned up and not replaced by the concrete monstrosity, the Arndale Mall.
There is a souvenir of the old market in the Ironbridge Museum in Shropshire. It is the entrance gates which presumably were made when the market was being built.
