SIR - The Council and its partners seem to be making a big assumption about the Park at the Heart.

Public support was, I believe, on the basis that it would be funded by a lottery bid. The Council and its partners seem to be now ploughing on with their intention to develop the scheme, even though their bid for the lottery funding failed.

The partners, including the Council, are now considering finding the money from their own resources. If this involves the Council spending its own - or more correctly, our' - money, shouldn't the public be told how much Council funding is being considered and asked again if they still think it is a good idea?

Perhaps the public would like the money spent on something else - such as a new concert hall.

Now, where can we find a large, empty, iconic building which, if converted into a concert hall, would give Bradford something that would allow us to compete with Sheffield and Manchester?

I'm sure that building must exist if we looked hard enough.
