SIR - To those who criticise the young people of today - I've just spent a few pleasant hours, along with other neighbours, at the invitation from staff and pupils of the Sixth Form at Thornton Grammar School.
We had a lovely lunch served and cooked by the pupils, sang carols and a festive time was enjoyed by all.
The staff and pupils worked very hard to entertain us.
Thank you Thornton Grammar School for teaching the young people to be thoughtful and pleasant to the elderly.
