SIR - The T&A reported in its Court File column that a young man had been fined £20 for driving without a licence and received an endorsement.
Terry Tordoff asked how can one endorse a licence that doesn't exist? (T&A, December 3).
The simple answer is that the penalty remains on record and should the young man get a licence in the future, it will automatically have an endorsement on it.
Contrary to popular belief some departments do work together.
