SIR - An examiner who marks school papers up to GCSE level told Anne Robinson and fellow contestants on the Weakest Link that a pupil would only have three points deducted from the 66 needed to pass whether they spelt one or 21 words wrongly.
Have you ever heard of anything more absurd?
No wonder there is general concern that exams are becoming easier and our children are leaving school unable to read or write properly.
The Minister for Education should be made aware of this ridiculous procedure before we end up with a country full of teenagers who can't even spell their own names.
