SIR - Would it not have been nice if local Muslim leaders, in addition to saying they welcomed Sudan's President's decision to release the English teacher, had called for an apology?
As to everyone having to be careful when visiting Muslim countries, not taking care should not result in such extreme punishments and mobs baying for the death of the "innocent transgressor".
