SIR - I read with interest the article in the T&A on Friday, July 10 regarding the forthcoming auction of "mouseman" furniture at Leyburn on July 25.
I was astounded to discover that Robert Thompson lived and had his workshop in Kilburn, London. Robert Thompson did live and work in Kilburn, but the Kilburn where he was based is in Yorkshire, not far from Thirsk.
Kilburn's other claim to fame is its white horse carved into the hillside below Sutton Bank.
Come on T&A, please do your research, and get the facts right. God's Own County has a lot to be proud of. Not everything is based in that place down south!
