HAIRDRESSERS were inundated with requests for appointments from people wanting to get their hair done before the lockdown.

I was in London just days before the lockdown and everywhere was winding down, with pubs and cafes closed or about to close. In the midst of it all was one place that was still buzzing - a nail bar.

Some might say that people have got their priorities wrong. But to many people having nice hair and nails makes them feel good about themselves and is not a bad thing at the moment.

We are all fraught with worry and anything that can cheer us up should be grasped with open arms. After all, we don’t know when things will be be back to normal.
