The Mill Lane signal box
SIR – Sorry to hear of the closure of Mill Lane signal box.
I started my railway career as a train recorder in 1967 as a 16-year-old in that box and retired 46 years later, having had a wonderful time working on the railway.
LETTER: Wear a white poppy this year
LETTER: Why not add white poppies to Remembrance display?
But progress has to be made for a safer and better railway.
