SIR - For some as yet unknown reason, we never see on television now the many Tarzan adventure films that used to-be a regular feature up to the late 1990s.
Who can forget the greatest Tarzan of them all Johnny Weissmuller. He played this part in 12 films from 1932 to 1948. Other actors that played this role in a further 21 films up to 1998 were: Mike Henry, Herman Brix, Casper van Dien, Gordon Scott, Les Barker, Jock Mahoney, Denny Miller, Miles O'Keeffe, Buster Crabbe and Christopher Lambert.
One of my favourites was Tarzan, the Ape Man 1981, with Bo Derek and Richard Harris.
As a Ukip politician in South Gloucestershire, many of my constituents, friends, and party supporters are constantly telling me how they miss a lot of the films that we used to see regularly on TV. And this is indeed something the nation in general are perhaps wondering too, one suspects?
I have a theory that it is to-do with political correctness gone barmy!
So perhaps someone can explain why Tarzan has been by an unseen hand in stealth, deemed now as "proscribed"?
Cllr Philip Winter, Filton Park, Filton, South Gloucestershire
