SIR - I remember going to the Town Hall, as it was called then, to see the wedding dress of Princess Elizabeth (The Queen).
I went with friends from school. I think it would have been 1948/49 as the dress had been on display at other towns and cities before Bradford.
We had to queue at the side entrance of the Town Hall, and the dress was just inside in a large glass display show case.
If my memory is correct the entrance fee was 1/6 (seven and a half pence), all the money raised going to charities.
