SIR - In reply to Audrey Dawson (T&A, July 31), I can remember going with my mother to City Hall and queuing up the steps, in the rain, to see the Queen's wedding dress.
I think it would be 1948, as I was only a little girl at the time. I cannot remember which month it would be the dress came to Bradford.
The dress was behind glass so as to protect it.
I can also remember how beautiful it was, with all the elaborate embroidery and pearls on it, and I have often told my own daughters about seeing the dress.
I am sure other readers will also remember going as there seemed to be an awful lot of people on that day queuing to see the dress.
