SIR - The organisers of the Drag-ons' Den, for gay and lesbian entrepreneurs (T&A, August 1) would be prudent to consult their lawyers before holding, or even promoting, their September event.
In these days of state-imposed equality, any such selective event must fall foul of the anti-discrimination legislation, based as it is on the sexual preferences of entrants.
Should the organisers fail to accept an applicant, or award a prize, overtly or merely by inference, on the basis of the applicant's sexuality, then the full might of the law must descend on them.
Equality is wonderful and deserves to be fully supported in all walks of life, but any such positive discrimination as this proposed event simply creates a different form of inequality and must be challenged.
