SIR - In reply to Audrey Dawson who is sure she remembers seeing the Queen's wedding dress on display at City Hall, I also remember queuing to see it, with my older sister.
It must have been about 1948 as the Queen and the-then Prince Philip were married in November 1947.

SIR - I also remember the exhibition of the Queen's wedding dress. My grandma took me to the-then Town Hall.
I remember queuing around the block. The dress was displayed in a large glass cabinet in the entrance and, if my memory serves me right, the admission price was half a crown.
I feel sure City Hall will have some record of this wonderful exhibition that brightened up the dark days of the late Forties/early Fifties.
