SIR - I was pleased to read the article about the Odeon (T&A, June 23). The comments made by Councillor David Ward echoed my feelings exactly.
How a place in such a prominent position has been allowed to deteriorate to such an extent I cannot understand.
It does make me wonder if it is being allowed to deteriorate to such an extent that people will no longer object to its removal.
If this is how Yorkshire Forward look after their obligations it makes one wonder what else they have in store for Bradford.
The puzzling thing is, a planning application has not yet been put in for the proposed replacement, yet on the television programme recently, comparing Leeds and Bradford, it was displayed as if already having the go ahead.
Incidentally according to the pundits on the programme they gave Bradford a better outlook than Leeds which was nice to hear. I do hope their confidence is not misplaced.
Perhaps the developers of the Broadway development were also watching and give a boost to their confidence in proceeding as soon as possible with their plans.
After all, with all the inner city apartments steaming ahead in all directions, there must soon be plenty of customers to patronise the shops.
