SIR - Everyday life is seldom dull or boring, especially when you discover aspects of your life that you have never suspected.
For instance, a few weeks ago I learned from concerned friends and neighbours that I had been unwell, and, in fact, had been in hospital for a short while.
Then, I read in your letters column (T&A, May 20) that I have taken in four stray cats. As I didn't recall having done so, I made a quick search of my house which revealed no trace of any - not even a whisker.
So what lies behind these tales (tails?) of the unexpected - mistaken identity or Chinese Whispers?
I know not, but I am nevertheless grateful for all the expressions of concern and happy to confirm that I am totally fit, healthy and catless!
