SIR - Just a brief correction to a recent letter regarding road pricing in which it was asked: "Could it be the satellite that will monitor us is being built as we speak?"
The answer is no, it is not. Its name is Galileo, it has already been built and launched by an Arianne rocket and is now in geostatic orbit above Europe.
Its surveillance technology enables it to track anything fitted with a suitable microwave transmitter, including not only vehicles but also people, hence its use to track tagged' early-release criminals.
After May 2009 when the Queen and "her" Government put themselves permanently out of business by signing the seventh and final EU treaty, handing over the last vestiges of this country's rights of self-government to the unelected EU Politburo, i.e. the European Commission, it is inevitable that, sooner or later, every citizen of the fully integrated EUSSR will be required to wear a miniaturised, wristwatch-size ID/tracking tag'.
Galileo, supported by a massive and hugely expensive surveillance bureaucracy, will then be fulfilling its intended purpose.
