SIR - While it may now be "politically correct" to shun God from every area of life, what have we actually gained from it? The latest government survey reveals one third of the entire UK now lives alone in our throw-away, do-as-you-like society.
Apart from this wall of individualism creating the need for more housing, have we, as individuals, honestly found the significance and security we long for?
Have we not in this nation bowed to other lords', and sought meaning and comfort in food and drink, TV, mobile phones and the internet? Do we need to be asking some sane questions about the purpose of life, with so many trivial pursuits' in evidence?
Why, when in generations past this nation had the glorious gospel of God's love and saving power, do we now largely ignore God and His Holy Word - the Bible - the world's number one best-seller?
Through the gift of God's Holy Spirit, the Lord comes to dwell with men when we surrender our lives to the great eternal God of our fathers and so begins His loving work of transformation and healing in people all over the world today!
