SIR - Just as we are ready to give up on the youth of today because of their yobbish behaviour, no respect or thought for others. I would like to praise the good kids of this city.
At the beginning of May Buttershaw College were in the Rock Challenge along with other schools from the district at St George's Hall.
I was lucky enough to attend and witnessed everyone give their all in performing arts. Awards were won by all in many categories, but Buttershaw were first on the night.
This meant they were in the finals at Grimsby on May 25, competing against schools from all over the United Kingdom.
As a result they came first, what a rich reward for all their hard work and commitment, all the time given up, not just by the kids but their teacher and everyone behind the scenes, especially the person who made the costumes they were very colourful.
We should be proud and show it when our schools and the children and teachers go the extra mile.
I was proud to support their efforts and hard work, especially my granddaughter Charlotte, they made us very proud.
