SIR - 4,000 people sign petition to retain street wardens' (T&A, May 28). But consideration is put off by the Council until June 26.
Not much sense of urgency or willingness to consult ordinary ratepayers' wishes here! Still, the record of listening to rate payers or heeding petitions by Bradford Council is not good.
They totally ignored all the many people wanting to save the Odeon and their predecessors disregarded a huge petition asking to Save Kirkgate Market'.
All law-abiding citizens support the good work done by the wardens. It is vital. We need a safe environment in our city centre.
Sacking them would be one more example of some of the silly decisions taken by our present council.
