SIR - I cannot believe all the fuss made in the T&A over Mr Peter Shaw not being able to get a cat from Cat Watch Rescue in Allerton.

At the end of the day cats are not difficult to get hold of.

Councillor Stanley King wrote in the T&A that he had taken in four stray cats. I myself have taken in two.

We read all the time about the RSPCA and others being overwhelmed by cats wanting a home.

Also many cat owners are too lazy to have their female cats neutered and are happy to give kittens away free.
