SIR - I would like an opportunity to thank everyone so far who has either telephoned me or written in support of my stance on having "no go" areas in which I will not rehome cats or kittens in my care.
I would also like to reply to Miss Patricia Deeks (T&A, May 23) who thinks it's disgusting a kind man should be refused a cat on the basis of where he lives. Perhaps if she were to receive the calls from cat owners who have had their cats poisoned, shot at and injured with stones in these areas she might have a different view.
It saddens me that people put human feelings in front of animal safety. I don't, I would sooner upset a person than put an animal in danger. People who bring their pets to me expect that and would be sickened if I had a "couldn't care less" attitude.
