SIR - I was horrified to hear of the impending closure of Remploy Ltd, the only firm in Bradford that takes every consideration in regard of their manpower who have special needs' that prevent them from having employment elsewhere.

It was my privilege to escort the special needs students in my care to Remploy for work experience.

The employees we met at Remploy had worked there many years without taking time off for hangovers, can't be bothered', I feel poorly' excuses. They value their work placement.

These wonderful people have a right to work, they have self-esteem, and they do have the right to their jobs.

I think of the hundreds of thousands of pounds invested in drug rehabilitation, sex offenders, people with ABSOs and God knows what else, yet we see these people, no matter what colour or creed, thoroughly nice people, decent human beings, being deprived of employment.

Whoever you are who have made these decisions, how do you sleep at nights with a clear conscience? You are a disgrace!
