SIR - Much to the chagrin of Tory leader David Cameron, Gordon Brown secured the nominations of 313 MPs, thus aborting a seven-week contest for leadership and allowing him to utilise that allocated time meeting the electorate, while Tony Blair continues with his duties as PM both here and abroad.

But Mr Cameron, pictured right, says that "Gordon is wandering round the country with nothing to do and Tony Blair is wandering around the world doing nothing".

Perhaps novice Mr Cameron should also take advantage of this period of time and put together some policies because neither his MPs nor the public have got an inkling.
