troversy regarding Jenny Sampson and her selective adoption policy.
Might I point out she is not alone in this. Quite a few years ago myself, my sister, her husband and two children went to the RSPCA in Bradford to adopt a rescue dog.
We were shown the dogs available for adoption and fell in love with one, but when it came to filling out the forms and our address was revealed as Thorpe Edge we were refused.
We eventually adopted a dog from elsewhere. He had been abused and was painfully shy but he lived a fine old life with us for many years and gaining his trust only added to the love we felt for him.
That said, I firmly believe Jenny has only the animals' best interests at heart. She is a Trojan in the field of animal welfare in this town, and is not afraid to make difficult decisions.
Of course there are many people in what are considered bad areas, that would show an animal love and care, but unfortunately many areas now contain an element that sees animals, especially cats, as target practice - or dog food.
