SIR - With reference to your article about Cat Rescue and their decision not to give homes to rescued cats in certain areas of Bradford (T&A, May 21), I adopted my own cat from Jenny Sampson nearly five years ago, and have liaised with Jenny several times since in connection with other cat welfare issues.

I have never met anyone with as much compassion for the well-being and safety of cats as Jenny.

Jenny takes in cats which have been rescued from often harrowing and extremely disturbing circumstances.

Many have been starved, beaten, shot, tortured, and abused, and Jenny has always been there to help them when no-one else has.

She clearly loves animals, and devotes all her time to giving these innocent creatures a second chance.

If Jenny feels there are areas in Bradford where cats are at risk of being abused again, then surely she is right not to take that chance.

We wouldn't place children looking for adoption in areas where they may be at risk, so why take the chance with cats that have often experienced a lifetime of abuse?

Unfortunately, the caring majority are once again penalised for the actions of the sick few.
