SIR - R Binns (T&A, May 24) has got a quotation slightly wrong, that is unless Winston Churchill borrowed the phrase under poetic license.
It was the great statesman Abraham Lincoln who stated "you can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time."
Winston Churchill was indeed a great man, and but for his timely effort in the last war I would not be penning this epistle.
If it were possible to have the reincarnation of Churchill and a few politicians of his "mettle" in power, then it would be possible for the country to have a future.
