SIR - Just to put matters straight with David Jennings (T&A, May 15) I think if he re-read my letter referring to Ann Cryer, left, he would see that in fact I was including most, if not all, politicians.

In Philip Davies's case, I can only recall his disagreement with Cameron, rather than his party, was in respect of matters appertaining to the EU and I have, in fact, suggested to him that he join the UKIP, which I, as its local secretary, naturally, find to be a non-hypocritical party.

Its main, but not only, policy is our complete withdrawal from the EU and I am sure all members support it fully and encourage others to join us.

  • SIR - I can't believe Philip Bird felt it necessary to challenge the integrity of the MP for Keighley, Ann Cryer, (T&A, May 9).
He talks about the "shortest day" and that she has the temerity to vote against some of her government's policies.

That, Mr Bird, is called democracy, not hypocrisy!
