SIR - It really gladdened my heart to read the column by 16-year-old Martyn Hannah (T&A, May 16).

Regular readers of these pages will have seen me making the same point.

The fact that there were no contradictory replies to my articles proved that there were none who disagreed with my views.

If no one disagrees with this point of view, I, for one, am writing to support Martyn's view.

How refreshing to find that at such a tender age, the youth of this country are not being hoodwinked by politicians.

I'm sure that Martyn is not alone in his generation with his views about global warming.

The future of this country will be in safe hands if our younger generation are able to assess situations for themselves, and not be mislead by those in positions of power.

If people with ages ranging from 16 to 69 have sussed out that global warming is nothing but an easy way of fleecing the taxpayers even more, isn't it about time that the powers that be owned up to using global warming as a con'?
