SIR - I've never known such confounded impudence as shown by the thousands of illegal immigrants marching and demanding to be allowed to stay in Britain, backed up by church leaders and politicians, and other assorted people.

Don't these do-gooders' understand that in the near future, they have to take their children and grandchildren, on a long train journey to show them green fields? That's if there's room for them on the train.

The Government waxes lyrical on the benefits of immigration to the economy, these people from all over the globe are prepared to work for a fraction of the fair day's pay for a fair days work' that the Englishman demands.

The Government are the world's worst hypocrites - they openly condemn slave labour in Third World countries, yet they are openly encouraging it here.

I have no doubt that in the near future the Government will have no choice but to get very tough on immigration.

One thing the Government are expert at is shutting the stable door once the horse has bolted.
