SIR - Just take a minute to consider: why we have an obesity problem in this country - is it because there is a burger joint on practically every street corner?
Just take a minute to consider that 1.3 billion people have to live on less than a $1 a day (50p).
Just take a minute to consider that 15,000 people die daily from water related diseases.
Just take a minute to consider that the richest fifth of the population haveincome 74 times the poorest fifth and consume 16 times as much. In other words, living to excess is killing the poorest of the poor.
These are figures that are mind-blowing but cannot be ignored. For many every minute counts.
Thousands die every minute of malaria, HIV/AIDS (or are orphaned as a result), hunger and starvation, lack of access to proper sanitation.
Let's just take a minute to consider that.
