SIR – A fringe benefit of the moving commemoration service for Hiroshima in Norfolk Gardens last Friday (T&A Saturday, August 8) was the sight of 14 or so stone plaques spread around the gardens commemorating local, national and international people or events, the words beautifully phrased encouraging the viewer to remember the subject.
People strolling in the vicinity might well spend a few minutes looking at these plaques and reflect on our history.
