SIR – Having been and continuing my connection with Theatre Land, near to 70 years, I wish to congratulate the Alhambra for one of the finest productions of a musical that I have ever seen in every department with current performances of The Bodyguard.
However being myself an understudy, a thankless job at the best of times, I put in a plea that though in modern theatre understudies are more appreciated than they used to be, myself having been in that position a few times, notably some years ago for Norman Collier when appearing in panto at this lovely theatre, The Pride of Yorkshire a few years ago.
More recognition still needs to be paid to ensure Joe public know who is performing at what performances in advance.
