SIR – Having responded to Mr Durkin I am now regrettably obliged to respond to Mr Waterhouse.

How exactly, Mr Waterhouse, do my earnest attempts to correct the misconceptions of myself imagined by yourself and souls of your ilk equate to digging a hole?

Sadly I noted that last Thursday you were having a dig at some other poor individual who doesn¹t quite share your views. Have you ever considered that now and again you might be the one in the wrong?

Once again I extend my apologies to readers who must be tiring of these ongoing confrontations but I don¹t think that the views of a few intensely opinionated and, in my opinion, often misguided individuals should go unchallenged.
