The shortlist published today for Saturday's Bradford Means Business Awards shows the incredible extent of talented entrepeneurs we have in the Bradford district.
And with the arrival of Westfield's Bradford Broadway shopping centre now just a matter of a few short months away, there is no better time to pay tribute to that spirit of enterprise.
The businesses shortlisted in our supplement today represents a huge range in terms of scale and diversity of products.
No matter who is revealed as the winners at Saturday's ceremony at the Agraah, they should all be proud of their achievement in being shortlisted.
The awards night will also see Peter Miller of Westfield give a keynote speech and that can only add to the level of optimism at what is sure to be another fantastic night.
And with a number of the new businesses that have sprung up in the city in the last year or so on the shortlist, there is real evidence of a feelgood factor emerging in the city.
The great and the good will be represented, including the city's three new MPs, and Bradford Council leader Dave Green will undoubtedly touch upon the renewed spirit of optimism.
Hopefully he will also map out ways that this spirit can be harnessed to capitalise fully on the city's upturn of fortunes.
But one thing is for sure - the night will be a celebration array of fantastic and varied individuals and companies that have been shortlisted, and they truly show that Bradford really does mean business.
