SIR – I write in response to the letter in Saturday’s paper about Equality Together.
Can I, as a trustee of the charity, make it clear that the decision to leave Park View has nothing to do with the recent merger of Bradford Disability Services with Bradford Alliance on Community Care and Contact Peer Support.
The fact of the matter is that our Dockfield Road site is leased to us by Bradford Council.
As we still have over four years to run on that lease and the council requires us to honour that commitment, we simply cannot afford to operate both sites.
I agree wholeheartedly with your correspondent J Bousefield that Parkview Court is a much better and more accessible location for our Independent Living Service. In an ideal world we would wish to stay there.
Peter Kay, Trustee, Equality Together, Dockfield Road, Shipley
