SIR – I wonder how long it will be before David Cameron wakes up to what is going on, and puts those SNP people and their leaders in their place?
Because all that we hear is how much they demand for Scotland: in effect, all the advantages of independence, without financial responsibility to pay for it from taxes they would have to raise in that situation, with the mugs in England giving the SNP and Scottish Parliament (on top of the Barnett Formula) what amounts to a blank cheque to pay for any mistakes they might make.
Not only that, but constant threats of the SNP creating problems in the Westminster Parliament.
If David Cameron and the rest had anything about them at all, the first thing to do surely would be to regularise the situation, so that every taxpayer in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland got the same in return for their taxes – eg free NHS prescriptions, university tuition, hospital parking, care of the elderly etc – which today only England pays for in full?
United Kingdom? It has never, thanks to the last Labour government, been more more disunited.
