SIR – Welcome to the new MP, Bradford East. And we all remember our huge debt to Bradford East’s David Ward who (with Labour’s Frank Field) saved our cheques.
Small businesses, charities, pensioners, plus anyone who likes a hard copy receipt to hand. Remember the banks’ decree?
Our cheques were too much trouble for them to process – just as the real-human-being checkout is now too much trouble for supermarkets to process.
