SIR – The nation has spoken. But precisely what have they signed up to?
For starters the “austerity measures,” which simply steal benefits and essential services from the poorest members of society, will be ramped up.
This will ensure that vast swathes of the population will be living hand to mouth – and in a consumer-led economy which relies absolutely on consumers consuming to promote economic growth.
Secondly the Tories will be looking to privatise everything that is not nailed down. The NHS is the first and most lucrative target. I wonder if the Tory voters have factored paying for healthcare into their soon to be hammered household budgets?
Next will be the BBC – the Tory press seem to think the BBC is a bit lefty. So, selling the whole shebang off to some Tory donor guaranteed to sing from the Tory hymn sheet is just what the doctor ordered.
In a nutshell (and for the next five years) the 99% will be paying to protect the 1% from the economic crisis the 1% created.
Many thanks to all Tory voters – now sit back and see what you have done.
