SIR – Fancy a day at the races? Enjoy having lots of fun and great times with your friends and family? Then we could have a great big opportunity just for you.
We need enthusiastic, fun and chatty people to join us as volunteer MacDay Makers at Macmillan Cancer Support’s single largest fundraising event – Macmillan Charity Raceday. Taking place at York Racecourse on Saturday 13th June 2015, it promises to be a great day out and, as a MacDay Maker, you’ll be helping to raise thousands of pounds to support people affected by cancer.
Macmillan Charity Raceday is a unique and amazing fundraising collaboration between York Racecourse and Macmillan Cancer Support. The event has been held annually since 1971, raising more than £6.2 million in total for Macmillan and other good causes.
In 2014, Raceday raised £365,000 and was attended by more than 28,000 people. We expect 26-30,000 racegoers to attend this year’s event and enjoy the activities, such as raffles, prize draws and auctions, as well as an afternoon of top quality racing.
If you’re interested in volunteering, visit www.macmillan.org.uk/MacDayMaker Alternatively, call Macmillan’s fundraising support centre on 0300 1000 200 or email macdaymakers@macmillan.org.uk.
