SIR – We know the Low Moor station is to be built, and it won’t be the same as the original, but I came across an old photograph of a steam engine on the Spen Valley line.
This loco was based at Low Moor shed in its heyday. It also had a name, “Victoria”. What happened to this, was it scrapped, where is the nameplate today?
Are there any other photos, books or paperbacks regarding the history of Low Moor station and the engine shed and its layouts, including the stations along the Spen Valley at Cleckheaton, Liversedge and Heckmondwike?
The line went from Low Moor to Halifax one way, Bradford Exchange the other. But where else did lines go to?
A map shows lines towards Bierley and Dudley Hill station.
Are there any photos of these? Any videos of trams leaving Exchange, entering Bowling tunnel, emerging at Low Moor?
I have a collection of DVDs of railways across the country, Severn Valley, etc., but nothing regarding the history of Bradford’s railways. Someone must have photos or even know about books of Low Moor and Spen Valley, along with DVDs.
