SIR – A report in T&A told of Muslim women’s rights not to remove her veil in a courtroom, along with a judge today agreeing with her.
This has got nothing to do with religion, you are in court to stand trial.
Unless you are below the age of criminal responsibility (this should be abolished) your face should appear in all newspapers so we all know what you look like, as you may commit another crime.
If these women are allowed to keep their faces covered then I’ll do the same if ever in court.
“Hoodies” can do this, along with a scarf. A robber can put a stocking over his head.
“Don’t talk stupid”, I hear a lot of people saying, but think long and hard about this, a woman walks into a bank dressed in a hijab, face covered, produces a gun from her clothing, demanding money.
CCTV cannot see her face. It could even be a man under there.
Senior members of the Muslim community say it is not compulsory to keep their faces covered, so why don’t these people tell their women to stop this?
No-one should be served in any establishment unless their faces are uncovered. What about passport control?
