SIR – Once again Bradford’s been highlighted as a cruelty hot spot (T&A, April 22) What’s that about? We wouldn’t let our family members suffer like that would we?
Why are they saying it’s ignorance when it’s something we wouldn’t dream off doing to our own? And another thing here is whether we’re rich or poor we know the difference between right and wrong.
It goes on to say its about education so shouldn’t schools teach basic animal welfare and by this I mean basic care needs, shelter, warmth, food and kindness?
As there is a big drive to stamp out bullying extend it to cover all potential victims including our pets. Children pick up stuff really quickly. Who would want a reputation as an OK person but cruel and nasty to their pets, and that goes for adults too.
Being born and raised in Bradford, I know we’re not bad ‘uns so to live in a city christened the capital of cruelty, that’s just not us. We can do so much better than that.
