SIR - Here we go again! Christopher Hindle (T&A, April 16) has a go at another writer who he sees as “a dyed-in-the-wool Tory.” Nothing there, of course, about Mr Hindle being a “dyed-in-the-wool” leftie, and his also small, but totally opposite, orbit.

It seems that in his blinkered view he considers that the government over the past five years has not made good progress in sorting out the mess left (as ever) by the previous Labour administration.

Whilst the recovery – and its necessary accompanying actions – have not been perfect (are they ever?), there is surely no question to very many that the Conservatives deserve the chance to continue sorting out the aforesaid mess, rather than risking the dead (and spendthrift) hand of Labour at this delicate time.
