SIR – I am an assistant producer on a new celebratory heritage programme for Channel 4 called Treasures Of Britain.
In our programme, we will be exploring the rich diversity of Britain’s heritage and way of life, tapping into the British public’s love affair with the country’s past and their desire to preserve the future.
I am currently exploring potential filming ideas across the UK, including Yorkshire. Within our series we are very keen to feature important heritage events and anniversaries, which demonstrate important traditions and practices within our local communities that are so valuable to keep alive.
We will be filming from the end of April, right up into July.
We would love to hear any thoughts or suggestions you might have on ways we can demonstrate the unique heritage of the Yorkshire area.
We will be doing the majority of our Yorkshire filming on the week commencing 4th May and therefore, it would be especially great to know about any May Day celebrations that might be taking place around that time.
