SIR – Sir Titus built the Victoria Hall in Saltaire rather than a pub, yet it is the venue for Bradford Beer Festival which I think is quite funny.
Not that I would object as a resident, as two great Englishmen were advocates of drinking beer: the writer Charles Dickens in the 19th century and the artist William Hogarth in the 18th century.
