SIR – Re the letter bus service has gone from bad to worse, (Phil Boyce T&A, March 24). I agree with Mr Boyce up to a point, yes it is a poor service, but may I point out there are other factors.

For a start, there are far, far too many cars on the road, and not enough bus lanes, causing delays.

The major factor in all this is public transport should never have been de-regulated in my view at any cost, I remember the old Bradford city transport in the 1970’s in these days bus services were run for the public not for profit, in my opinion private companies like First Bus only care about profit, not the public.
