SIR – I totally agree with Eric Mills when he says candidates put forward to serve an area must be from that area (T&A, March 10).
He was referring to Labour’s Bradford West candidate, but we have our own Labour candidate parachuted into Bradford South, and while I’m sure Cllr Judith Cummins is a nice lady, I’m not sure a lady from Leeds is the best person to represent Bradford.
If a party cannot find local candidates, they need to ask themselves if they are still relevant in that area.
