The downright dangerous driving of a van driver captured on the dashboard-mounted camera of another motorist almost beggars belief.
That the van was carrying out its foolhardy manoeuvres outside a school makes the incident all the more breathtakingly reckless.
There is simply no excuse for driving like that on our roads and it is more by luck than management that such behaviour - if it is indicative of the driver's regular antics - has not resulted in injury or even death for another motorist or pedestrian.
Fair play to the company which owns the van - and presumably employs whoever was driving it - for coming out to condemn the actions and for working with police to identify who was behind the wheel.
As they rightly fear, the disgraceful display of driving reflects on their company and they have moved quickly to reassure the publicthat they are re-iterating the need for safe and courteous driving to their other employees.
When the culprit is identified it is hoped that the strongest possible punishment will be levied upon them by the firm, who cannot afford to have their good name sullied by this idiotic road-use.
With the number of cameras on our roads and situated on private property, and the increasing use of dashboard cameras such as the type which captured this shocking footage, those who continue to treat the roads as their personal racetracks should know that it is only a matter of time before they are caught in the act.
Let us hope that more people come forward with footage of such terrible driving and these idiots are taken off the roads before they seriously hurt someone - or much worse.
